I've always loved clay, as far back as I can remember. There is magic in being able to shape a piece of the earth, and meaning in the process and result of firing.
Whether through the wet, earthy smell of fresh clay, the material's significant and varied impact on tens of thousands of years of human history, or the simple role your favorite mug plays in your daily morning ritual, clay has a powerful potential to act as a conduit for connection - an intertwining of earth and humanity across space and time.
As an artist, my pottery and sculpture are the means by which I extend this conduit to my customers; as a teacher, it is my honor to aid my students in experiencing this connection for themselves.
